Thing is, writing is my life. I think in terms of stories, my memory is best in characters and plotlines, and I can almost never see or hear something without wondering how it could be turned into a story of some kind.

One of my mother's friends knows me well enough that when she catches me staring into space during dinner, she asks, "So, what story are you working on now, Sel?"
