Sorry about the skippage. Big long day at work meant Sel was ded and couldn't be arsed putting up the next chapter.

TITLE: Reflections - Part Ten
SUMMARY: Ironic that the woman he wanted in his life - the woman he couldn’t imagine living without - was the one he’d never made love to. Not yet.
NOTES: Story details in post with Part One. Thanks to the people who've been leaving reviews, notes, and some beta advice along the way - the comments are appreciated, even if I'm not responding.

Work sitch is okay. It would be better if it didn't take me an hour to get home every night.

I'm so glad this is short-term, I don't know how people do this on a regular basis - at least an 8-hour day plus an hour travelling each way - how do they cope? My sole relief is that I'm not driving through traffic - I take an orbital motorway that allows me to drive at 100km/h (80mph) for most of the way, even if it costs me $5 in tolls. When faced with the choice between money and sanity, I'll take sanity (however tenuous).

The photo meme is coming - probably on the weekend when I have time to breathe. I'm trying to get some writing in - I've still got the [livejournal.com profile] stagesoflove challenge to finish (the one that people don't read) as well as a Teylaficathon and femgenficathon entry.

Oh damn. Stargate Awards. Have to get those sorted out tonight, too. And the database is down. Bummer.

I think the consultancy I work through must have an American secretary. They sent me a birthday present for the 8th June. Not that I mind the birthday present, just that it's a bit early (or possibly very late).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] allisnow I have books, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sjhw_tolerance, I have zines, and thanks to work I have a headache, so I'm going to write until 8pm and then give my poor, dried-out eyeballs a chance to recoup from the computer screen...and go read a book instead. Or probably get co-opted into helping the parentals move their boxes in. (Big day Saturday.)

An Ethnographic Account of Friendship Amongst LiveJournal Users by David Fono. (found at [livejournal.com profile] dirtyfilthy's LJ)

If you can get past the sociology-speak, it's an interesting set and series of thoughts and rather relevant to my state of mind of the last few months. Particularly in his conclusion that the understanding of what constitutes 'friendship' on LJ is defined after the enactment of 'friendship', while in RL relationships, the understanding is developed in concert with the friendship.
