Pendulum

Because I know a lot of you don't read my fandom LJ, so you wouldn't have heard about this: stargate_summer - an SG1 Big Bang challenge.

The objective: write a fifty thousand word (or more!) novella or novel in the SG-1 universe. Any plot. Any (or no) pairing. Gen, het, slash, OT3, OT4, it doesn't matter. Then, you'll be matched with an artist or vidder who will take your story and produce art for it. End result: a whole summer of long, plotty Stargate fic and gorgeous art and vids to wallow in!

They're looking for Authors, Artists, Betas, and Cheerleaders to help out - all pairings, all categories, AUs - the lot!

Are there any SG1 fans out there who might be up for writing one last SG1 novella? Send this out to your f-lists to let them know and encourage them to participate!

Only just got back, and it was definitely worth the piddling entry fee! Cocktail meet-and-greet and a <150-person convention for just over one hundred dollars? Bargain!

As assorted people have previously commented, Chris is like a big teddy bear. Swears like a trooper, which he had to be careful of because of the handful of kids in the room. *laughs*

( he was sober (or, at least, only a little tipsy) and an excellent convention guest )

Honestly, I love the Culture Shock/Armageddon Sydney conventions. Melbourne gets a bit too big - the Melbourne SF TV crowd is bigger and more fanatical than Sydney. Torri and Rainbow were good but their con had about 300 tickets so that was one of the larger Sydney cons. (They'd been expecting Joe Flanigan as well, but he had to cancel.) Rachel and David Nykl and Tony Amendola were nicely sized - not to large, not too small - probably about 180 tickets. And this one was small and loads of fun at around 150 tickets. Plenty personal.

Plus, I made at least one new acquaintance! Always good to widen the fannish contacts in the local area.

TITLE: No Second Guesses
SUMMARY: It irked her that, after years of questioning herself, she still had to second-guess her decisions.

NOTES: Written for the sg_ep_ficathon as tielan (I thought it might be an Atlantis story), for sg_fignewton, who wanted an in-between scene of Sam's initial escape from the mountain and her phone call to Maybourne, with some thoughts on how Teal'c trusts her to bring back help and insight into why she chose Maybourne.

No Second Guesses: Her escape from the mountain had been quiet - so far.
