first paragraph meme V
Sep. 2nd, 2005 10:20 amName a pairing or character (that I'm familiar with, in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write the first paragraph or segment of a story for it.
The Simon/Kaylee is short, the Tyrol/Boomer is long, I like the Alfred piece, but the Kara/Lee short seems to lack something.

ssmith_12? That was sneaky, putting in not one but six options for three fandoms! But I'm onto you! You got both a Sam/Jack and a Kara/Lee - so I'm going to move on to the next requests! (Although the prospect of Daniel/Vala was certainly interesting. *g*)

More tomorrow. Haven't had much time for writing today. On the other hand, I learned how to navigate around the BART and MUNI transport systems of San Francisco Bay Area, and can now follow the basics of a baseball game. Yay me!

JLU Season Four
Jul. 27th, 2005 12:17 pmWow. Apparently we've watched almost all of JLU Season Four but the opener (Cat and Canary) and the Flash episode (Ties That Bind).
I really quite enjoyed 'Divided We Fall' - the Big Seven again. Plus Luthor. Fun. Joy. Less talking, more hitting!
Muse is chewing things over. At the least, it might start up on Actaeon again.

TITLE: Salvage
AUTHOR:

RECIPIENT:
buggery
SUMMARY: There are times when 'interesting' is a good thing. And there are times when 'interesting' is a curse.
CHARACTER(S): Barbara Gordon as Oracle, interacting with Batgirl (Cassandra Cain).
RATING: recommended for upwards of 13 years
DISCLAIMER: Barbara Gordon and Cassandra Cain belong to DC comics and their associated bodies. No permission has been given to use them, however no money is being made from the use of them.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: I'm actually very fuzzy on the comics, so this story pertains to no specific comicbook event. I sincerely apologise if the depiction is not what was wanted. Much praise, worship, and thankfulness (on my part) goes to
familyarchives who had much to say about Cass, along with
amilyn who had links and ideas and much assistance for me in the writing of Babs.
ETA: The person for whom I wrote this enjoyed it, but not (apparently) many others. I didn't really know enough about the comics to be able to write a character-based story, and didn't have enough time to develop a longer plot. But I did rather like the setting of this story. All in my imagination.

Boxing Day
Dec. 26th, 2004 07:43 amI wish everyone reading this would have as relaxing and non-stress a Christmas Day as I did. We came, we helped set up, we ate, we helped clean up, we veged out for 7 hours and went home. No family fights, arguments, tantrums, or conflicts.
Not much loot, but then, we agreed this was to be a fairly low-key Christmas, so the items I did get were practical and open-ended. Bike accessories from the parentals, Max Brenner chocolate from B2, and B1 donated money to a Christian group on my behalf - which is good, because I'm too lazy/greedy to donate it myself! The stepbros and cousins all gave us vouchers - video and Christian bookstore - which suits me fine.
*hugs*
skydiver119,
tv_elf, and
cheekygal again. Thanks, ladies!
Oh, and ultimate Christmas Day gift? I got paid for half the work I did during Nov/Dec. Which means my bank account is not a big fat $0, and I will be able to a) pay for Christmas presents, b) pay the bloody mortgage that's been worrying me.
Now to resist the Boxing Day sales. Eek!
