Australia vs. Italy

It's been a good game. We're holding them at bay, but I don't hold out too much hope for the second half. Italy has both strong defence and strong attack; Australia's holding them out of the goal on the strength of their defence, but out attacking side isn't strong enough to get through their defence.

If we can hold them at bay through the 2nd half, it'll come down to a penalty shoot-out (I think) which will be pretty impressive since it will be between a forward and the goalie.

But if they get a goal (and Italy have had way more shots on goal than Australia, although the defence has played magnificently) then we're so screwed, because we won't be able to equalise it.

All the same, it's a damn good game to watch. :)

ETA: 62nd minute - boys, enough with the fancy passes! Get the ball down there and shoot at the damn goal!!!

ETA2: DUDE! WTF??? Penalty shot in the last minute of extra time got Italy the game. For a dodgy call: allegedly an Australian deliberately tripped an Italian in the goal box...looked more like the Italian tripped over the Australian.

Damn. Damn. Damn.

All the same, it was a good game. :)

Unfinished fic meme

Okay. Since I'm pretty much writing what will be my final SG-1 story now, I'm throwing open the floor.
