We don't celebrate it in Australia. I think the whole 'harvest time' thing just passed us by what with it being spring down here.

Anyway, it's 6am and all is well, except for the fact that I'm up. Why am I up at 6am, you might ask? I'm asking the same thing. Bleh.

So, remember the Cylon-O-Lantern I linked to back last week? [livejournal.com profile] starfinn and [livejournal.com profile] blackbeard68 made one of their own! How cool is that?

I feel geeky by wishing that LJ not only allowed polls, but had an easy way for you to collate and correlate the data collected in polls based on username. Hey, the individual answer is interesting, but not as interesting as seeing how votes swing and who are the 'rebels' against the main flow of data.

For the record, I unsubbed from the thread that prompted the poll and am no longer following the conversation. I'm sure that people are blackmouthing me and my arguments now that I'm gone, but what can you do? Bigots don't change their opinion through argument. I learned that through the kerfuffle with the Denialites and J/D fans back in 2003.

Wow. Fandom really does teach you things!

And for those of you who were curious, the three things that did happen to me were:

#3 - stoner boyfriend blowing pot smoke in my face while I was half-asleep.
#5 - walking 5km over Wollongong city to return to the point where we started.
#6 - worst pickup line evah, even if it was a compliment of sorts.

Nobody got all three, although everyone got at least one. Hee.

Who else is attempting NaNo this year?

[livejournal.com profile] kyronae and [livejournal.com profile] slm76 are, and I know that [livejournal.com profile] technosage has gone for a 100-words-a-day comm.

Anyone else?
