Lalalala Birthday Lalalala
Aug. 6th, 2008 10:59 pmIn spite of the embarrassment and the mockage, it was a good birthday. I even posted fic! (SGA: Hairdos And Tattoos, for the curious.)
Cirque du Soleil Dralion? Awesome. Music, costumes, sound, acrobatics, wow. *loves her Cirque* A small degree of panic when I got to the train station and realised I'd left my Cirque ticket at home. EEK! (At least I realised it then and not once I was in town. That would have sucked.)
Funny story of the day. Went to dinner with the parentals. Light repast, something to eat on the way home, etc, etc, etc...
( This is not the story about the Stepdad And The Wrong Carpark Which Involved Trying To Track Down Building Security At Ten PM With His Car Stuck In The Carpark Still - that is a tale for another day... )
Other than the guilt, though, I have had a good day, which, really, is all we hope for any day...
There is an awful lot of food in my future. Friday dinner (friends). Sunday lunch (family). Then next Sunday, mother has invited all the relatives and cousins around for a "Christmas in July" (yes, she knows it's August) since it's impossible to get the relatives together when it's actually Christmas.
That's also the day of the hockey semi-finals. Hopefully bright and early (ie. 9:30am and not midday).
And tomorrow, I shall go in to work at a company that wanted to hire me for two days a week just in case they had a problem with their system. Two days a week. For 'just in case.' Talk about being trigger happy! Still, I might actually get to write at work.
