DragonCon costume pics
Sep. 19th, 2009 09:04 pmAt a professional photographers' Zenfolio site, in the DragonCon 2009 folder. Because I can't take photos like this! My photos will be up in the next couple of weeks - I've resized them during a break from writing, but I've got to get them organised and make a decent post. My pics are pretty much two categories: D*C costuming, and NOLA. None of the costuming ones are as good as these, though! (Of course.)
Greek Gods (or maybe Roman?) They were making their way around the atrium of the Marriott - quite hilarious to watch them wander and roister.
Selene from Underworld (it's a really good resemblance) and Skeletor from He-Man. I didn't see Skeletor, although I did see She-Ra (or several of them) wandering around.
Steampunk...I think. There were a lot of people around dressed in various states and stages of steampunk. It was a fascinating off-shoot of the whole sci-fi/fantasy genre. And for LOLs: X-men Steampunk! Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit, and Professor X. Incidentally, I heard that one of the Mythbuster guys wheeled around in a steampunk wheelchair all weekend. I don't watch Mythbusters enough to recognise him, though!
There were plenty of other X-men costumes around.
I already told you about Jedi Barbie and the The Stonecutters in one of my posts on costuming at D*C.
This Illyria from Angel is a pretty cool likeness, I have to say. And the Ten/Rose fans should enjoy!
And just for the weird and wacky end of the deal: someone dressed up as a Lego doll...

The Terrible Bargain We Have Regretfully Struck
The post may be triggery. It was for me. Way too familiar a feeling.
