I am sitting at my computer, on the ship docked on the river at Budapest. It's been a long day, and tomorrow will be longer.

We get up and go at 7:30am, putting our bags out at 6:30am, heading for Prague, where we'll spend the next three nights before flying home.

Budapest is a beautiful city and I am so coming back here when I next hit Europe. It's the bridges and the monuments, the history - not just the 1000 year history, but the pre-WWII and the post-Fall-of-the-Iron-Curtain aspects. The political history, the stuff that I never heard about in history classes, the conflict-torn landscapes that I can barely comprehend when I fly back over my country that's so old in its bones and yet so young when it comes to the harsh hand of humanity inflicted on its landscape.

I have some thoughts on my trip through Europe and my interest in other countries. I'll see if I can articulate them on the bus to Prague tomorrow.

In the meantime, I shall try to sleep while my roomie tries to finish the book she started earlier this trip and is determined to finish before we disembark tomorrow morning!
