The Write Stuff
Nov. 7th, 2004 10:39 pmIt's all I do anymore: write and work and sleep and eat. No wonder I'm getting flabby.
Well, I repotted the gardenias I bought two weeks ago, and fixed the worm farm a little, swapping the various levels around. But I think the worms are eating the mat that I was using to keep the ambient light from killing them. It would be like eating the roof over your head in the middle of a snowstorm. If you ate roofs, of course. Silly worms. I might have to stick to cardboard in future instead of those mat thingies - would be cheaper.
NaNo Count: 14,607 words and on target. Maybe a day and a half ahead.
I have to get out of the habit of writing short 'chapters' from differing points of view. My first section is all one character and it spans three years. I need to develop that gradually. 'Gradually' is hard after writing fanfic, which tends to be very immediate and current and fast-moving in plot.
I'm sort of in two minds about this story. On one hand, it's an original fiction, (wow, I've written 14K words of an original fiction in a week...) On the other, I don't know how much of it is in my head and how much of it is on paper. It's a failing of thinking too much about something: I can't remember if I've done it or if it was just what I imagined myself doing.
And yes, I have aspirations to get this published when it's done - if it's ever done.
10:39pm. Bedtime!
"G'night, Australia." (is there anyone around who remembers YTT - or is it just me?)

Date: 2004-11-07 05:41 am (UTC)And I have to say Sel, I find it hard to imagine you flabby, but I guess anything is possible. A bit of exercise is good for the soul though, so it probably wouldn't be a bad thing just to go for a walk once in a while. You can use it to rest your fingers and do your plot planning. :)

Date: 2004-11-07 01:22 pm (UTC)YTT ran from 1971 through 1988. So I guess they were around at the same time.
