It's good.
And I reiterate what people have already said: if you've been unspoiled this far, stay unspoiled.
OMFG. OMFG. OMFG. OMFG.
HE KILLED WASH! AND BOOK!
*smacks Joss upside*
*wails*
Otherwise it was awesome. Seriously awesome. Am going to drag the sis along to see it. Maybe. She might scream at me after. But wow. Wow. WOW.
The whole thing was amazing. Awesome. Love the story. Although I am wondering if Joss has jossed himself again with the story of River's escape. The impression I received was that Simon wasn't the person to specifically get her out: that it was other people who got her out and they met him at a rendesvous point. Maybe that's just my internal impressions from what is said in the series.
*sobs* No more dinosaurs. I loved Wash and his dinosaurs.
Although Simon/Kaylee cuteness. And River watching. *g* Education, much? Although the 'regrets' discussion between Simon and Kaylee was a little forced in terms of storytelling. You know? Although Kaylee was funny when she declared she was going to live through it.
You know, I can almost see what gets the Mal/Simon slashers all wet. Almost. I just see it at cross-blunts with each other, a la Jack and Daniel, Sheppard and McKay, Angel/us and Spike, Angel and Wesley... Obviously my 'gaydar' is broken beyond repair. Such a terrible loss. *cough*
And Mal and Inara are so cute with each other. Even when they're being all protective. And the crew watching in on the vid transmission from Inara? Damn funny.
I still can't believe he killed Wash! One minute, he's a leaf on the wind, the next minute he's dead!
I mean, I love Book and the mysteries of his history, but Wash had such personality...
*breathes*
Sorry, only just got home from watching and am incoherent. WOW.
Did I mention the WOW? Because, like, WOW.

Date: 2005-10-01 11:03 am (UTC)I'm sorry, but even weeks after seeing it that's all I can say about the movie.
Did you see the dinosaurs still sitting there at the end when Mal sat down? They were STILL THERE.
I walked out of that movie stunned and speechless. I seriously could not talk. It wasn't the fact that he killed him (yes, and Book too obviously, but Wash was my favourite), it was HOW he killed him. I was silent for the rest of the night.

Date: 2005-10-01 11:30 am (UTC)I can't believe he killed Wash! I mean...Book was great, but Wash was...Wash.
One minute he's a leaf the next he's just...
*cries*
The only Damn Happy Couple Without Angst in the whole of television history (okay, so maybe I exaggerate, but certainly in the Jossverses) and Joss breaks it! AUGH!
The whole movie rocked, but after Wash died, all I could think of was: "no sequels with Wash! no sequels with Wash! no more dinosaurs and telling alliance officers about Zoe's legs and 'ohgod ohgod we're all gonna die' and nothing!"
I'd have felt the same if anyone else died. But Wash was just so cool. *cries*

Me: "Joss and I are not on speaking terms right now."
Just. GAH. He did the brutal thing with Jenny and he did it with Wash. My two favourites. I just...gah.

Date: 2005-10-01 12:50 pm (UTC)The memorial at the graves had E thanking me when I handed him a napkin to wipe his eyes. And Zoe, dressed in white for mourning.
"Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony..."
The Reavers were absolutely terrifying.
I am buying the DVD the moment it comes out.

Date: 2005-10-01 12:55 pm (UTC)Then again, I think white is Chinese for mourning: red is for weddings.
The scene where the doors open and River's standing there with the knife and the battleaxe and all the dead Reavers around her? WOW.
Hell with the DVD, I'm going to go see it again! Because I want to remember all the pretty shiny...
I still can't believe he. killed. Wash.
DAMN YOU, JOSS! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

Date: 2005-10-02 01:02 pm (UTC)My own theory is Joss creates two more highly successful Serenity movies, and 20 years later, creates three god awful "prequels", in which we see Wash return in his moustached state.

I =loved= it. Absolutely loved it. I was =very= shocked then Wash bit the dust. So so sudden and unexpected. And no, I didn't know about Joss tendency to kill off main characters like that. I never hung on to Buffy or Angel long enough for that!
But yeah, awesome awesome movie and I definitely need to see the shiny a couple more times *g*

Date: 2005-10-08 10:36 pm (UTC)WASH!!!!
I'm not so upset about Book for some reason (might have had something to do with the fact that he was only in 2 scenes before getting killed off anyway) but Wash! It came out of nowhere and completely blindsided me!
Although for one god-awful moment, I was convinced Joss was going to kill off the entire cast... and actually, I wouldn't have put it past him.
*sniffles* Wash... Poor Zoe.
