Lay Down Your Burdens
Other than the 'ship question, of course. I know why people were screaming there.
There are a lot of issues here: among them, bad management of the debate situation by Roslin, more bad management of the New Caprica situation by Roslin, fuzzy thinking about Roslin not releasing the information about Six and the other known Cylon models before this. If people had known about Baltar beforehand, then maybe they could have done something about the election. Of course, the whole storyline with New Caprica would never have happened. And they needed that to happen.
The year-long jump was a bit of a O_O but hardly worth screaming about. As
tv_elf noted this afternoon, there's a lot of potential for fanfic in that year.
You know, I love the Adama/Tigh friendship. It doesn't have to be about sex, just two old friends who know each other well and have worked together for years.
I rather like the touch of having the Cylons find them - and having Caprica!Six, Boomer, and Doral as the reps. One wonders how Boomer's going to take the Chief's relationship with Cally, or how Six is going to be about Baltar. And the final scenes of the toaster Cylons striding through the market? Brilliant. Utterly frightening, but brilliant.
I can even imagine how the Kara/Lee rift happens: she wants to go down to New Caprica because Anders is a civvie and doesn't have a role in the Galactica or the Pegasus. Lee remonstrates with her, thinking she's giving things up. She argues that they've found port and that she doesn't have to give things up completely. Words are said about his relationship with Dee and her relationship with Anders, she accuses him of jealousy, he accuses her of desertion, they part with animosity and Kara resigns. Since they're no longer in a war situation where their interaction is required, they split and don't talk to each other again.
My feeling with Kara/Lee is that it would be very encompassing, with little or no middle ground. When they were on the run, they worked out a middle ground. During the year when they're not working in close proximity, they can't and don't and won't. What do you expect from them?
Tonight is gonna be interesting.
