reorganising tripness

So, now that the north-east is no longer an option, I'm looking at a quieter end-of-US-trip-segment plan.

18th-25th Oct - stay with pandora_576 in Sacramento for the week, chilling out, and maybe roping allisnow, and starfinn and Bri into dinner on Saturday 20th.

25th-29th Oct - stay in a hotel in Philadelphia, meet up with slm76, alliesings, and snoggingpicard for a weekend of food and fun.

29th-1st Nov - stay in a hotel in Boston, doing tours and wandering around pretty much by myself.

And after that, I'm off to the UK.

The alternative to Sacramento is Omaha, NE to stay with sjhw_tolerance.

slm76, alliesings, and snoggingpicard, I need you guys to let me know if that weekend's okay and (for Sal and Allie, at least) whether you have any recommendations or preferred places to stay in town?

Plus, observe the icon! That's (probably) Sam-lemming, Daniel-lemming, George-lemming, and Ruby-lemming at the Grand Canyon 2005. And, no, they didn't jump off the edge!

lol, she really would be perfectly happy to have you, you know. By that point I'll actually be back in school... fall break this year is during the first two weeks of Oct. Hence me being able to do Dizney ;)

Well, I appreciate the consideration, but with my track record, I wouldn't want you holding your breath. I'm not familiar with the Philly area at all and would depend on either Hubby or Sal to go with me. Plus, with my new job, I'm still not sure how my days off go and stuff. But I will endevour to keep in the loop.

I'm about to throw a spanner in the works. That weekend might not work for me. H's birthday is the 24th, and it would just be another family horror if his mother insists on coming down that weekend to take him for dinner and I'm not there. (Any other family member's birthday and I cheerfully wouldn't give a hoot!) Of course, she might come down the week before. Or she may not come at all. This IS my mother--in-law after all.

October is always a hectic month. Our anniversary is on the 10th.

Man, I really wish I had a better answer. I'd love to see you, but this woman can be really, really pissy at times. And as much as I gripe about H, I'd hate for him to have to deal with one of her worse moods because of me.

Well, at the very least, I'll give you a call and we can chat.

I haven't quite settled when and where I'm going to be - we've sent off to the people who arrange tickets to see if they can sort out some of the mess that is my trip-through-America, so I might be able to make it to PA at some other stage of the journey.

Another option is that I might be able to fly in. Compared to a 5-6 hour drive each way, flight time is only just over an hour. So, if the mil did insist on lunch/dinner in Pittsburgh, I could get a flight to Philly afterwards. It would also mean H would have the car while I'm away so he wouldn't have to ride the mountain bike in the snow.

Go ahead, plan your trip and if I can slide in with a cheap flight to someplace, I'll let you know!
