I'm doing okay.

Missing the cat - getting used to her not being there, and dealing with the fact that so many little things are going to remind me of her.

My life for the last 14 years was subtly shifted to accomodate her - feeding, cleaning the litter box, making sure she didn't get out or scratch the furniture in the lounge room...

And now all that's gone. The habits remain, though, even though the reason for them isn't there anymore.

Today's the first day since I got back from Europe where I haven't felt like I needed a nap after lunch. Of course, after lunch today, I went shopping in the city and bought a whole heap of clothing - nice light wintery stuff that I can layer like a bag lady, only hopefully looking a little more elegant.

Earlier today - before the shopping spree - I went fabric shopping with a friend from the Sydney writer's group (SpidersGroup) and it was heaps fun. I didn't know there were fabric warehouses in Sydney all over the place, and I think we're going to be going out fabric-hunting at a different store again later this year. And also to the Quilting Expo in Darling Hbr later this month.

I'm feeling generally lethargic. Mum thinks it's depression, after the job and the cat. Which it probably is.

There's work on the horizon - a major Sydney project ramping up at the end of the month. I want June to be a break from work - get writing and home projects done. And then perhaps pick up in July-August?

Anyway, I'm meeting with one of my former co-workers tomorrow afternoon for a coffee since he can't make the "farewell lunch" being held for me on Friday near my former work. And on Friday morning, I have an appointment with an employment agency about the major Sydney project.

Next week, I have to get some quilts in for quilting, see the real estate agent about doing up and selling my property out west, have lunch with my mum, have dinner with [livejournal.com profile] arabel, work out when and where I'm going to visit my Dad and the US later this year, and finish the Sanctuary Kaleidoscope quilt, which is looking so crazy-busy that I can't, in good conscience, give it to anyone who hasn't actually asked to have it. :/

BOTHER.
