Singapore Airport Layover: 2:30-6:30pm
Jul. 4th, 2005 03:47 pmAfter starting the day at 4:30am in Sydney, I find myself in Changi Airport, Singapore, twelve hours later.
I have a four-hour layover here - technically five hours if you count the half-hour to get off the plane from Sydney and the half-hour to get on the plane to Hong Kong. Not that there aren't a lot of things with which to occupy myself inside the airport. Their transfer lounges are big and comfy, and there's everything from spas and massages to retail therapy.
The flight to Singapore was crowded in 'cattle-class'. Lots of people, no empty seats. The food wasn't bad. The usual way of airport food. I'll have to remind myself to occasionally say 'no, thanks' if I don't want to return home some 10kg heavier.
Am definitely looking forwards to my upgraded seat on the flight home from LA to Australia: I'm in business class there - purchased with frequent-flyer points. And after this trip (and assuming I get my last year's points through), I should be able to get another upgrade for that leg when I next do this.
One of the 'TV on demand' episodes they were showing was Dr. Who: Rose. What episode number is it? I'm rather glad that I didn't start the series back when people started raving about it. If I had, I'd be majorly bummed that Christopher Eccleston bowed out. He's an excellent Doctor - I love the way his performances border on corny, but manage to come off as slightly bizarre.
Am rewriting Aaelsworld again, finishing SGA-fic, pondering other pro-fic, chewing over cylonbunnies.
Hey, it's all I got to do during a 4-hour layover!
