a handful of stardust

It's been an interesting couple of days staying with my old schoolfriend and her husband. In particular, it's been nice to chat with another Australian (circa. the last couple of years, as compared to, say, the last dozen - sorry, chiroho! She's also my age and we do a lot of reminiscing, which wasn't possible with you!) and compare notes on our experience in the US. Will post the conclusions in the next week or so.

I haven't been doing half the writing I should, and now I have to go to bed because I'm going in to LA-city to spend the day with allag tomorrow and the Amtrak leaves at 7:45am. Have no idea what we'll be doing: possibly shopping, possibly wandering, but not Universal Studios because it's too bloody costly.

Incidentally, I was wondering why people haven't been very posty lately. Then I realised: it's because I'm looking at the wrong damn filter! At least it's better than thinking that y'all have been f-locking me out!

Finally, if any Aussies want anything from the US (chocolates, sweets, books, papers, WMDs, anything-that-won't-get-me-arrested-and-up-for-the-death-penalty [ie. no drugs]) then hurry up and let me know today/tonight so I can find it in LA and bring it home with me! Now is the time people!
