Just got woken up by a couple having a domestic...in our front yard. Involving screaming and banging on our door for help.

Call it cowardly but we're not going out. He's not threatening her with a knife or gun that we can see, and nobody's dead. Other than her initial tirade for help, the woman and her partner seem to have gone back to do their fighting where most people do it...in their own home.

Then again, I think I can hear her banging on someone else's door a bit down the street. *sigh*

We've called the police and logged a request for help. Apparently they already have another request logged and are trying to find someone to send out.

Encouraging.

Canberra is, without a doubt, the oddest place I've ever worked. For one, it's the only place I've worked where, at 4pm, they tell me to go home because "you've been here the longest". Usually I go home because I've worked the hours for my day.

I arrived at 8am. Had a short lunch, which means I can leave at 4:15 and have done my 8-hour day. That's in 10 minutes' time.

Completely irrelevant and not one of you will understand it (okay, maybe Stef and Rob, but unlikely that anyone else will...hm, maybe [livejournal.com profile] banazir?): the work-related stuff )

Eh. I've spent 5 minutes typing this out. 5 minutes to go!
