Got back from the polling booths of the NSW state election about half an hour ago.
To use phrasing that
chiroho suggested, I exercised my right to be told to vote. (Australia has compulsory voting.) And I didn't donkey vote, either!
We're probably going to end up with another four years of Labor state government (they've been in power for 12 and you wouldn't believe how many basic services have gone down the gurgler since those days), simply because nobody seems to want to vote for the alternative. The Federal election later this year, however, could prove more interesting, if people don't first go insane from the advertising.
Doesn't change the fact that I hate politicians.
Heading off to
saramund's hens' night from lunchtime. I will hand over episodes of
Heroes and receive books in return - including the most likely rather trope-ridden
Belladonna by Anne Bishop, and several Nora Roberts books.
Let's see if I can break
12K: 9am 13K: 10:30am 14K on this fic. I'm just feeling dry as a bone and about as inspired.
