In a rather shocking discovery, I count some 47,900 words towards my getyourwordsout challenge. I picked the 'insane' level, requiring 350,000 words by the end of the year. The count includes not only the stuff I've written above, but the castoffs of the stories I've written: scenes which don't fit, lines and interactions that aren't used, sections that are pruned from a story for being irrelevant or not useful to the plot. And the count doesn't include journal entries or meta.

That's a lot of words. Even for me.

random: teeny tiny spider!

I have a teeny tiny spider trying to spin a web on my desklamp.

Teeny tiny spider! No bigger than a pinhead, with teeny tiny legs and gossamer webness, bravely trying to anchor her line in the drafts from my open balcony door and my overhead fan.

If she catches a fly, it will be about ten times larger than she.

I'd take a photo of the teeny tiny spider, but she's far too small to be captured by any lens I have in the house.
