Tempted...

I was tempted to say something to the effect of:

"Go forth my pretties and VOTE!"

And then I realised that I didn't vote in the recent Australian elections.

However, that was because I was a lapsed voter and I didn't get my rego in soon enough to be allowed it. Otherwise, I'd have braved the leaflet-hander-outers and gone voted with my sister. Never mind that our area is blue-ribbon Liberal (which, in American terms, probably means closer to the Republican policies than the Democratic policies - go figger).

Y'all are voting, right? Every one of you on my flist that is in the US of A? Land of the free, the *mumbles something - I keep thinking it's 'stout' but that can't be right*, and the brave, etc, etc, etc... (Hey, it's not my national anthem! We're just young and free here in the land of Oz.)

Oh, and that wank I pointed out the other week? 500+ replies. And the lady who 'caused' it all (not the Danielite Diva - who apparently made a big song and dance at sgfic) is having a field day! (Remember the 2002 GC auction? It's like that, only at F_W!)

One of the pro's to livibng where I do - you just amble along to the Sandfly hall walk straight in (with a few people politely offering how-to-vote leaflets), vote, and walk straight out. Easy *g*

It's horrible here in the Sydney electorates. You could resurrect a tree with the amount of paper they waste. (Okay, so it would be a red and blue and green and ugh tree, but it would still be a tree's worth of woodpulp!)

Heh. We have a big box at the door for recycling.

Yes, but still! The needless deaths of trees...

True...although, in the case of first time clueless voters such as myself a small supply of how to vote cards are handy ;)

Yes, I saw your post a day or two ago. *smooches*

I am cheering for one party over another, but what I think of the US elections hardly matters in the immediate form. Other than having much rejoicing and dancing on some flist journals, and much mourning and outraging on others.

That was you?

LOL. I read that wank the other day and thanked god I wasn't in fandom anymore. I figured since Rowan was making such a deal of it that she was the one who did it.

"lunatic Jonas lovers"? Are they getting as bad as the daniel freaks? BTW - what is a beagle botherer?

Ah - for a second I thought you had done the wank. It was pretty funny, though :)

Yeah, see...I'm in Howard's electorate. Very safe liberal seat. Woe.
