2005 wish list

1. A Sam/Jack happy ending for Stargate SG-1 - however and whenever they end the fricking show.
2. Inspiration to finish 'Aaelsworld', 'Actaeon', 'No Man's Land', and 'Scars of the Heart' - and a plot for the saint.
3. My novel to be accepted (so I copied from Denise!).
4. Contract work that allows me to take holidays when I want to take holidays.
5. A book contract with a publishing company for an original novel or series of original novels.
6. A visit from at least one overseas friend.
7. A leather jacket (about women's size 10-12)
8. My mum's stupid friends to stop being idiots and ignoring her just because they disapproved of her marriage.
9. A house with a garden that I can keep chickens in.
10.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts;
Everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end:
This is my grown-up Christmas wish.

And finally, spotted around the traps, specifically with [livejournal.com profile] sesaworuban and [livejournal.com profile] allisnow:
If there is any question you would like to ask me about any one of my fics, then go ahead! What I meant by a particular line, why I chose that characterisation, what I was listening to as I wrote, what crack I was taking and where you can get some ... anything. Anything you might like to know about how I wrote a fic, I shall do my best to answer.

Right, that's my meme-ish-ness gotten out of the way for the next six months. It's back to our regular, depressing programming from here on in!

Oh, and I think Ang's rant found here can be summed up quite ably by Terry Pratchett:

"People should have to pass an exam before they're allowed to have children. Other than the practical, I mean."
~ Susan of Sto Lat, 'Hogfather' ~

ETA: Wow. I actually read all the way through my flist this morning. No filters or nothing. Haven't done that in ages.

Let's just say that I'm glad that I got to change rooms from the back of the house to the front of the house!

If I'm up before 9am, it's either a miracle or a curse. The latter meaning a curse on me for not being able to go back to sleep. I don't sleep very well during the night, and I get my most restful sleep between 8am and 10am...that's the only bit that gets me through the day at the moment. Otherwise I need a nap mid-afternoon!
