Bleh.

I have a cold, cramps, sore eyes, and welts all over my scalp from scratching too hard. My yearly ecxema is outbreaking all over my mouth and throat and I feel horrible.

Bleh.

I think they're keeping me on at work. Right now, it's deadline time, with reports due to be handed in all over the place. And the one that was supposed to take 5 days has been going 10 days now. Granted, there were a few days in which I worked on other stuff. But right now....

Ah, heckit. Tomorrow morning when I get in, I'm going to completely plagiarize the code from John's program. As in completely. You can do that in programming. And they like it when you do it, too.

I hate working in an area when I don't know how it all fits together. And I've never done this before, and it's worse than my usual area. And that's bad.

--

*prods her sj ficathon entry* I want to write a novel. It's only supposed to be 1000 words. But how am I supposed to write to spec in just 1000 words? Hell, I can't keep my flashficathon entries to less than 1000 words! And I want to write a novel. It's only going to be about 30,000 words. I can do that in six weeks. Really!

--

And I really wish the husband of the couple I'm staying with would do his share of the household work. It's seriously putting me off ever getting married. Yes, I'm a selfish biyatch. If I'm going to pick up after anyone, it's bloody well going to be me!

Heck, they like it even better when you turn the code into a macro, or a fucntion, or a module, or .DLL (depending on language) and have everything using it even better. *smiles*

I'm sorry you're doing so poorly, and hope that it's improving. *hugs*

And write the novel (turn in a 1000 word ficathon entry, too, but write the novel. If you don't, despite really wanting to, you'll end up feeling blocked. Probably.)

Yes, but this isn't used often enough to justify a macro or function module. Minor plagiarism in the scheme of things. ;)

Thing is, I want to write the novel as the ficathon entry!

And I'm already feeling blocked on several stories as it is...

Something I was once told (about Fortran, but applicable in many places and many ways) was: "If you need to write the code more than once, then turn it into a function." *smiles* Is it plagiarism if you're being efficient? ')

And write a 1000-word outline of your novel, submit that as the ficathon entry, and go to town on your novel without any wasted effort... *Mephistophelian smile of temptation*

*sympathy* on the seasonal ick. *hugs* on the general itchiness.

*hugs* on the housework. I SO get that. My husband has been a gem lately and has picked up SO much of the work.

*snicker* re: novel.

I LOVE being able to copy-paste code or regulations and then just modify. It's a LOVELY thing.

I think it's just the changing of the seasons. My body doesn't mind spring, summer, or autumn too much, but seriously objects to winter.

Yes, but you have a nice hubby, Amy! :) We can't all be so lucky! (although I'm sure he has his compensating faults in return) *G*
