movie meme
1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video: Not many. DVD: Lilo and Stitch, Charlie's Angels, Toy Story and Toy Story 2…oh, and the Battlestar Galactica miniseries (which is really more like a movie) - except that's Region 1 and I can't play it. Does the boxset of Spooks (a.k.a. 'MI-5') Season One count? Although that was a 'gift' from
2. The last film I bought: Possibly 'Lilo and Stitch' at least two years ago - I tend to borrow movies from my stepdad, who has a vaaaaaaaast collection (and it just grows each time I come back)!
3. The last film I watched: The last new movie was 'The Incredibles' on video. Have I mentioned how much I love E (Edna)? "Pah! Nothing super about them! Spoilt skinny little things with poofy lips who think only of themselves… I used to design for GODS! But perhaps you have come with a challenge, eh?" I think I know almost all of E's lines by heart. Just way too classic. "You can't! I'm far to busy, darling. So ask me now before I regain my sanity!"
The last movie I'd already watched was 'Persuasion' with the dude from Horatio Hornblower in it. I'd jjust been re-reading the book and wanted to see the movie again. That was on Tuesday when I was sick, and I nearly fell asleep in front of the TV - which never happens to me.
4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Disney's Mulan: Chinese girl runs away from home, dresses as a boy, and saves China, bringing honour to her family. Fun, laughter, and I love the smoke. (The smoke in Mulan is drawn exactly as it's done in 'traditional' Chinese paintings - it's very cool that way.) And I like Disney's Hercules too: Megara's song "I won't say I'm in love?" So Sam Carter. So.
Terminator 3: because of the ending. I was expecting them to save the world again, and instead they lose it! Nick Stahl was exactly the kind of John Connor I wanted to see: he used to be the saviour of the world - an arrogant brat at fourteen, who knew everything. Then Judgement Day never happens and he's just another drifter. Then it does happen and all of a sudden, he's back in the game again and he's got a whole world to unite and the rest of his life in which to do it. And Claire Danes does a great job of Kate Brewster.
Bend It Like Beckham: because it's funny and cute and slightly adolescent-angsty, and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is very cute and brooding-intense, and the actress who plays Jasminda does a great job. Besides, her family is funny in that winceworthy way that families really are. I'm looking forward to seeing 'Bride and Prejudice' when I get around to it.
Shawshank Redemption: because it's painful and terrible and despairing - but also so uplifting and full of hope.
While You Were Sleeping: because it's silly and cute and romantic and Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman do an awesome job of acting. Besides, of Jack and Peter, Peter gets engaged to the girl, but Jack's the one who ends up with her. *g* And yes, Peter's a schmuck. They got that right at least…

5. Which five people am I passing the baton onto? And why?

And the meme that
music meme
1. Total volume of music files on my computer?
Um. None? Except for music vids.
2. The last CD I bought was:
Idea of North - an a capella group who sing some gorgeous oldies and original songs in four-part harmony, jazz-style. Excellent music.
3. The last song I listened to before writing this was:
The last song I heard with my ears was…a CD my friend was playing when I got home yesterday. The last song I heard in my brain was:
Sweet holy spirit! Sweet heavenly dove!
Oh, won't you stay right here with us.
Oh, won't you please fill us with your love!
And for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise.
Without a doubt we'll know that we have been revived
When we shall leave this place.
4. Song playing right now:
Nothing. I don't generally listen to music while I'm on the computer. My brain can't think and process music at the same time.
5. Ten songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Honestly, I haven't listened to anything in a long time. There are songs I sing a lot, but they're usually seasonal.
6. Ten albums I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me
Again, haven't listened to anything much in a long long time, but back when I was listening: Chicago and Evanescence featured fairly highly.
