I'm sorry. I was going to go back through and comment on everyone's LJ, but got as far as tv_elf's LJ and just couldn't do anything without rewriting the same-old same-old stuff. Although I did have some fun with allisnow. *g*

Basically, if you're on my f-list, most of the time, I don't remember why I friended you. It was way back in the distant past and ages old. However, the reason you've survived the occasional purges of my f-list is because I like you and/or what you have to say. Pick whichever one is more acceptable. Or both. Both is an option, too. Some of you I've met in person, and some of you will never be more than names on a page.

It all adds up.

In one sense, I have you friended because you have me friended back, which suggests that you actually like me or what I have to say. Or possibly my stories. And given how good I am used to be at making enemies/getting into fights/ending up mocked by teh snobocracy/opinionating, that says quite a lot about your character. (And possibly your ability to withstand all the bitchkriegs on my part.)

I suppose that, in the end, if I can't quantify why I have you friended, I do know that it would be unacceptable to lose what you bring to the mosh pit of my LJ experience.

But mostly, I'm too scared to delete you!

Yes, I know, I can't even be serious about this, can I?

Now, please excuse me. I have a weekend to work.

Well, the reason that I have you friended is because you are one of the very first people I met in this here fandom, and I really enjoyed your motivation and your dedication to your personal convictions - whether fandom-related or not. You are a very amazing person, m'dear! And believe me - I don't care if you got into a million fights with me - I like what you have to say and I respect it. So neernie to everyone else who misses out! *grins*

I friended you because you were this big scary BNF on all my friend's flists and I'd just met you and you actually didn't seem to see me as a petty mere mortal in your presence ;)

You stayed on my flist because I like you, and you never saw me as anything 'less' even though I was still at a point where I saw myself that way. And thankyou for that, because you're one of the people who helped me to stop seeing myself that way simply because you didn't.

Hmm. Anyway. Enough fluffiness :D

When we were first 'introduced', I thought you were one of those elitist, snobby fic writers who thought the sun shined out of their ass (you know, Big Name Fic Writers). And you were part of that scary HW crowd I'd just started talking to.

And then, y'know, we actually started talking to each other and that theory went out the window. Then I figured hey, maybe you're one of those older fans who writes cruddy fic over and over again and gives the plebs exactly what they want (and what they want is absolute shit). Then I found out that you didn't write mainstream stuff. Huh. There goes that theory too.

Somewhere along the way, we just kept talking and I got to know you and realised you were - GASP! - a nice person who wasn't afraid to say what she means and mean what she says.

So yeah. You're on my friends list. Deal with it chickadee ;)
