The quilt is done! It took about two weeks to make in 'real time' but in terms of time actually spent on the quilt, I'd say it took about 4 days of work - if that. The trickiest bits were where I had one plan in mind and something happened that meant I had to change my ideas. Or get more material.

Anyway, it's for a queen-sized bed, machine quilted, Irish Chain pattern, cotton front and back and padding, with a nylon-front/cotton-back for the quilting thread.

It has a train station - Sue caught a train to there when she went home a couple of years back. I'm sure she'd be able to tell you how far it is from the airport.

Do you know if the trains run at night, or only during the day? Could I get an overnighter from Manchester to Nottingham?

Sorry I've been a while replying, Sel. I've had computer probs. Anyway, try this site. Just type in Manchester Airport, Nottingham and when you're wanting to travel. I've just had a look at today and there seem to be occasional trains overnight, but they're few and far between.

There's a train at 3:30am that reaches Nottingham around 7am, which might be an option. I can get some sleep on the flight out from HK - enough to tide me over for the day and night of the 9th, I think.
