change in the weather

seldearI woke up this morning and it was raining. Pouring, actually. Then it was almost sunny for a few seconds. Now it's grey again and might possibly rain once more.
The weather in Sydney is a lot like my life lately. Things will seem to be going one way, and then things change very rapidly. I feel like my writing is heavy and uninteresting and I get nominated for an award. I think things are fine with my f-list and then someone indicates they've had an issue with me for over a year and didn't say a thing. Everything's sorted out for Wedding!Con and then people can't go. My room is a mess and it gets magically cleaned.
Okay, so not the last. But we can hope.
I still haven't written anything of significance for a while. Nothing that I feel really proud to put my name to. I was looking at heading into BSG-fic, but after a disconcerting encounter with someone rather heavily in the fandom, I'm not so sure I want to. SGA grabs me for some things - Teyla, McKay, and Sheppard/Teyla - but not others - I'm kinda tired of the squee!slash.
I think I'm going to do with SG-1 what I did with it last year: I mentally 'stopped' at Heroes. After that, nothing counted and I pretty much lost interest with the show. 'Moebius' was a good place to stop things, I think. If I'd been writing for the VS9 with the storyplot I outlined (just before VS9 management changed) then I would have kept an interest in the writing side, but otherwise I keep coming up with longfic ideas and not enough time or energy to write them.
JL and HP have registered hardly anything. And with HP6 coming out in less than a month, I'm not minded to try anything new. A pity. I liked the idea of 'Still Life With Crumple-Horned Snorkacks'.
And I still haven't set up my website at www.thedragonborn.net yet. Front page and that's it.
But I did get my SGA eps onto my stepdad's computer for burning. Now to find software that can reduce the size of an .avi file from 730Mb to under 700Mb, short of cutting the end.
My sister is so not getting up before midday today. When the parentals come around to collect her to pick up her new used car. And will expect that she has cleaned downstairs. Okay, so they'll expect that I've cleaned upstairs, too. But I don't have enough storage space. Guess I should go out and buy some more, eh? Shopping on a Friday sucks. To put it mildly.
