first paragraph meme

I need a brief challenge to stretch my fanfic legs. I've written 8,000 words of profic in the last few days and need a break.

So:

Name a pairing or character (that I'm familiar with, in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write the first paragraph of a story for it.

Fandom options: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Harry Potter, BtVS and Angel, Firefly, X-Men, and Justice League. Possibly Dr. Who, but that one is risky at best.
