I am an evil, evil person.

But I think you all already knew that!

Granted, but now I'm curious as to why it's currently relevant. :g:

I'll take the Fifth on that, I think.

Hm, does the Fifth only apply to American citizens?

Yup. So you can't take the fifth amendment to the US Constitution. :D

Out with it!

Can I claim that on the internet, we're all American citizens or something like that? ;)

Not that I disagreed with much of what you said here:

The Post About Things American
(though some of it stung - because it's true)

but it seems...paradoxical? ironic? You're a better writer than I am, so I'll leave it to you to come up with the best word...to want to claim American citizenship so soon after posting it.

Glad you had a nice visit. Wish we'd met while you were in my neighborhood, so I could picture your face while reading what you write.

You want to claim that you're an American citizen???

Well, only for the purposes of getting out of explaining whatever it was that you wanted me to explain...

I see the English won the Ashes.

And the less said about that, the better.

Are Wendy and Sally gloating?

Wendy's still on holiday I think. Sally did post about it, as you would expect. Thought I knew what to expect from her as I was texting her score updates throughout the day while she was at work. It's actually Sue that is rubbing it in the most! (I think she's trying to fill in for Wendy.)

*laughs* I can see Sue doing that.

Ah well. As someone pointed out, Australia has enjoyed great sporting success in the last decade. Coming down from it was only a matter of time.

Said the way only someone who doesn't follow the team faithfully could put it. ;)

See with me, I don't live in Aus any more. I don't get to relate with Australians all that much. I get excited about Australia being one of the best sporting nations on earth so I can rub it in the noses of yanks, and can rejoice in my being Australian in this vicarious manner. Yes it's sad, but it's not like I get all that many other opportunities.

It's just that ALL the teams I've followed have been slammed on the sporting front recently.

The Australian Cricket team has lost the Ashes for the first time in 15 years.

The Australian Rugby Union side has lost 6 international matches in a row for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The NSW Waratahs proved again that they were show ponies when it came down to it in the Super 12.

The Sea Eagles, after a promising start to the season, are losing again.

I mean, I've not been an AFL fan, but maybe I need to start following the Swans. At least they're winning a bit.

Ah. See, that sucks. :(

Never been much of a sporting fan. I like the action-y bits, but get bored when nothing's happening.

The difference is I played cricket, rugby, and soccer at high school, and my father is a big sports fan having played cricket and rugby at an amateur level. So when you grow up watching something on TV all the time, you get into it.

Oh well, I'm sure Australia will be winning at something or other sooner or later. Until then I'll just hide from all the pommies on LJ. ;)
