why email notifications are a bad idea

They let you know when you have mail.

And me, being me, runs to see who's mailing/posting/talking now!

I have just spent the last 12 hours futzing around with fandom_high. It's 2pm. I'm going to nap now, and then head into the city to mee arabel.

That job I posted about last week? Fell through. However, another one has come up - in Brisbane, no less! If I'm to take it, they'll want me up there in the next fortnight for three-six months - presumably in the city centre. (How's Brissy's public transport system?) However the pay is very nice and even three months isn't to be sneezed at. I'd pay off the credit card and get Christmas holidays. Six months would be a bit more problematic, but who knows? Anything goes!

The only thing is that I'd move up there and take the cat with me - probably room somewhere for three to six months, preferably a house. But they have to like cats. And that's the tricky part. :(

Anyway. Just a phone call right now, but it looks good. Hopeful. I could do with hopeful. (And a job.)

You don't /currently/ live in Australia, right? That would be so cool. Hubby almost got sent for 2 mos; I would have been so excited...and prob. would have quit my job to go with. The tricky part was the cats. I checked the quarantine procedures... you'll want to look into that.

Actually, yes, I am in Australia. I was in the US recently but for a holiday.

So Brisbane isn't too terribly far, just out of my bourne.

People on my flist are such admirable world-travelors that I confess I'm dismal at remembering who started out where. Well at least you don't have to worry about putting the poor kitty in quarantine. It seemed like an icky prospect, from the website. Yay Brisbane =)
