Ever have the feeling...

I've been putting this off for a while, mostly because I'm scared of seeing just how many of you want to unfriend me, but I figure that now is a good time to run naked in the rain. And I saw something that made me consider that there's at least one person, possibly two, on my f-list who doesn't want to know me anymore.

So, if you've been wanting to unfriend me for a while, or for the last month, week, day or hour and have been afraid of the bitchkrieg I might start, today's your day.

Two things to keep in mind - particularly for the people who have me friended, but whom I haven't friended back.

If you're on my f-list then I read your LJ every time I check my f-list: no filters.

If I'm on your f-list then I keep a dummy LJ what ain't never been posted in, and that has you friended, so I skim-read your LJ when I have the time and comment when something catches my eye and I have something to say. I just don't have time to keep up with everyone who has me friended - I've tried it in early LJ days and it got too cumbersome.

I think I'll write for another two hours until I'm so tired I can't see straight, let alone type, and then go to bed.

Hmm...well, I am too darn stubborn and too dang annoying to unfriend you, so I guess your stuck with me.

Plus, the fact that I adore you completely and bow to your fanfic greatness could have something to do with my devout devotion.

I obviously don't have enough friends cuz I am confused. Do people need an invitation to unfriend people? I always thought they'd do it if they wanted to and wouldn't if they didn't want to. Like the people that I know who have done 'purges' to their lists did it when it was the right time for them, not when someone decided they could unfriend them.
Maybe I am just out of the loop, I need to unfriend more people! ;) So far I only unfriended one person and they definately deserved it! And I let them know why, but they didn't give me permission, they said I couldn't do it. HAHA did it anyway!

I've never quite got the whole fanfare about un-friending. If you want to unfriend someone, then I'd assume you don't care much/a great deal about what they think. If someone unfriends you, you either miss them and make an effort to find out why/fix the friendship or you don't miss them and thus don't particularly care...

I suspect I'm looking it all in a rather naive fashion...

I couldn't agree more. I just can't understand the LJ-drama that comes of de-friending - if'n someone's not interested in my babbling then I'm not going to take it to heart (though I might be curious and see if there was any particular reason) and if I'm not interested in someone else's LJ then there's not much point having 'em friended.

I'm with the people who are confused about the etiquette of unfriending, lol. If someone wants to unfriend you, wouldn't they do it anyway? I mean, why should they care if the unfriended person then starts a big wank? They wouldn't see it anyway, would they? Frankly I think the whole shenanigans with who unfriends who and why and when is a bit ridiculous.

With, definitely with :) And don't worry, the no commenting thing is fine, since I tend to lurk around mostly myself. For that matter, my Lj isn't all that interesting anyway (I've been told its far too random), so you won't miss anything earth-shattering if you don't read it.
