households and life
Jan. 29th, 2007 09:56 pmHappy Birthday, Meesh and Jen!

Kerfuffle tonight. B2 lost her temper when B1 asked for a timeframe on getting a household task done. Slammed cupboard doors, yelled at us, threw cutlery about while putting away the stuff in the dishwasher, and generally complained.
This is the sister who wants to be an overseas missionary.
Heaven help the 'heathen'.
I think we're going to have to institute a rule: there are tasks that need to be done and they should get done. Ten minutes (or twenty or thirty) will not kill you in doing, even if you really do want to have some time to yourself.
Tonight, I spent my time at home cooking dinner, washing up, cleaning the cat litter, putting things away, and preparing my lunch.
I suppose now is not the time to mention that I hoped to get 1000 words written? No. I thought not.
She's still bratty, though.

I think I may need to institute a 'writing hour'. Basically, for one hour, I write. I don't wash dishes or talk to the sister or surf the net or anything. I just write. Because I have too many interruptions to my trains of thought and no writing is getting done.

Pannacotta on Saturday night at
saramund's was a hit. Worked very well - and wasn't as solid as the last one I made. All good.
banfennid? If you're still reading this, I still owe you that set of recipes - I haven't forgotten! It's just a question of getting the recipes typed out and sent to you. I think I'm going to send them out to a couple of people (
distant_cord and
saramund have expressed an interest, as well as at least one RL friend), so there'll be a variety of recipes in there: mains and desserts, mostly. Sekrit family recipes, etc.

Man, I'm exhausted. Wry to write for 20 mins, then go to bed. See if I can't do 500 words. Worth trying at least!
