None of it's sewn together yet, so I can arrange or rearrange as I feel necessary. I'm leaning towards the second configuration, because the autumnal blocks are busy and keeping them confined in blocs seems to calm the quilt down a little.

Of course, all this is back in Sydney right now, so no more work will be done on it for a while.

On the plus side, I've found a woman who does machine-quilting about 10 minutes from my house in Sydney - so I can commission her to sew the quilt together - even put the backing and binding on if I want! Woohoo!

Personally, I prefer the first layout. The beige (I don't know what you call that color) really pulls the reds of the blocks and the autumnal blocks make a good border.

Just to throw in my vote,I too like the first one best. The second is nice too but I like the flow of the fist one.

I like both layouts, but I prefer the first for some reason.

OTOH, your best bet will be to do whichever one you like the best. ;)

while I thank all of your flist for their opinions (really - no sarc here) I'm going for option #2. Of course, Chris hasn't seen it yet, so we may have an impasse... *g* - I'll let you know Chris' opinion when he gets home...

oh, and thank you - both are lovely! LOTS of work, even in just the cutting and arranging!

Okay. At least I know the config they should be sewn into!

And are you not taking calls on your mobile right now?

Dang. I got the "the mobile phone you have tried to call is switched off, or not connected" message when I tried to call around 8pm.
