Okay, after I come back from my European Winter Explorer trip on the 16th November, I have nothing to do.

My flight out of London doesn't leave until the 26th November and I am at a loose end. I was to be staying with several people throughout Europe, but they're kinda MIA right now, so I'm looking at alternatives.

Does anyone have any recommendations for things/places/tours to do in mid-to-late November in the UK or Europe? I may be able to find somewhere to bed down in London with some Aussie friends presently in the UK, but I'd love to meet up with people - particularly on the weekends.

Suggestions?

Absolutely. I might have another guest ( smileraniko )on the 16th, and probably I'll have lectures or exams on Saturday, but that depends on our respective schedules. I hope you don't mind.

I can also offer you a sofa to sleep on in a town with nothing to do, but with fast trains to London (45 mins) and Oxford (15 mins) if that appeals to you.

I'd recommend spending some time in Cambridge and/or Oxford and/or Bath if you haven't done so before. Fannishly, there's Collectormania Manchester on 17th and 18th November. Only one guest so far, but they usually have one or two SG people. The one in Milton Keynes in October has Chris Judge, Michael Shanks and Jewel Staite on the list.

agriope23 mentioned coming back to London in November when we met up, but you'd have to ask her about exact dates. But if we could coordinate it, that would be fun.

Is the week or the weekend better for you? If beefree88 contacts me back, then I'll be in Hungary for a few days before returning to the UK. I'd probably prefer to be in the UK for the last few days of my trip - I'm thinking about seeing a London show on the Saturday or Sunday before I leave, so I'd probably stay in London the weekend of the 24th-25th November.

I'll email agriope23 later and see if she has any definite plans yet. The weekend would be better as I don't know how much of my holiday allowance I'll have left from work by then - but I'm sure I could take a day or two off if you can't make the weekend. Otherwise if you want to stay in London on the 24th and 25th then I can drop by there for the day.

I will definitely be in London for the 24th and 25th and probably a few days before that. I'm thinking I might take up my friend's offer to stay in Hungary for the 16th-21st, and then head to London from the 21st to the 26th.

If you (and agriope23) can make it to London while I'm there, I'd love to meet both of you.

Think of the UK as a victorian woman, in a huge skirt... the bustle/bum area is east anglia and Cambridge is pretty much in the centre of that.
