Several pieces of advice when it comes to Disneyland.
Rule #1: Definitely go at a time other than summer. The crowds in October are significantly smaller than they were the last time I went in August 2000.
Rule #2: Fastpass, fastpass, fastpass. And start getting the fastpasses early in the morning, because by lunchtime, you're looking at waiting until 5:30pm.
There's no way to describe Disneyland, I think. I could give you a blow-by-blow description of what we did, but there's nothing that can really convey they experience.
I guess I'll just leave it to the pictures.

Chip and Dale holding Daniel-lemming up.

Donald and Daniel-lemming.

Daniel leaning (carefully) out the window of the Disneyland express train that circles Disneyland park.

Daniel, Joe-Lemming, and Sam-lemming on the Disneyland Express.

...I'm not totally sure what this pic is of. I think it might be Mickey's ToonTown from a bridge running near Fantasyland. Alternatively, it might be looking in the direction of the Small World ride.

No, I'm pretty sure it's Mickey's Toon Town.

Tigger! (Lola couldn't seem to get a picture with him - he wasn't taking pictures with adults...only children...)

Eeyore, looking suitably forlorn.

The Disney Castle. (Cinderella's? Sleeping Beauty's? Snow White's?)
The California Adventure Park was new to me. It was under construction the last time I came to Disney, and had only been completed in the last five years.
The rides were pretty cool, though. As was the Aladdin spectacular we saw.

Sam, Elliot, and Daniel sitting on fake sardine boxes in the California Adventure Park.

Afternoon parade. This was the float from A Bug's Life.

The butterfly character from A Bug's Life.

Pirates!

The pirate wasn't pleased that I was taking his picture. And in running away, I banged into a railing and managed to bruise myself quite spectacularly. Don't ask.

More pirates. If she's supposed to be like the voodoo lady, she failed.
Two shots of Main St, USA.

OMG! It's Johnny Depp! Okay, not quite. But the outfit and likeness was pretty good.
Funny story: after taking photos of pirates and dancing girls and more pirates, the others come and join me. I've seen no sign of Captain Jack among the pirates, although the pirate who didn't like me taking his photo was a little peeved that people kept asking for Jack Sparrow. So, we're walking away from New Orleans Square over a bridge past Tarzan's Treehouse and...along comes Captain Jack. I forget myself entirely and yelp, "Holy sh!t! It's Captain Jack!" Much to the amusement of the gang and the Captain's "handler".
Anyway, this photo was taken later that day.
