NaNo Update

seldearSo, in spite of being on holidays, I've managed to cobble together 6,000-ish words for NaNo. Of course, by this time, I should be at something like 15,000. But it's surprisingly difficult to write while travelling this time around. Mostly because I'm sick and end up not sleeping during the night, which means I get my sleeping time in during the day.
I'll see how I do tomorrow. We're travelling from Venice to Lucerne and I'm going to try to park myself up the front of the coach with the view out of Italy and into Switzerland, and see if we can't bend our mind to NaNo.
This year, my brain is split between two novels. One is my NaNo 2005 attempt, mostly because I got to the end of the NaNo period and pretty much never touched it again. I'm not entirely sure of the story, but I'm going to plough on.
The other is a new urban-fantasy-adventure-romance story idea that's based on a set of children's stories I wanted to write. For some reason, they were turning out more adult than I expected, so I gave up trying to write them as kids and jumped to the part where they're trying to save the world as well as themselves.
Will probably make a post on the last few days when I hit Lucerne. Hopefully someone will have free internet access off which I can mooch...
