A credit card transaction fee of $73??? WTF?
Incidentally, in the 60 seconds between when the sale went live and I ordered, it seems that 60 people got an order in. 60 people.
If you're wondering; yes, I bought a platinum ticket: all photos, all autos, an evening function, and a breakfast with guests (to wit: RDA, Ben Browder, Chris Judge, David Nykl, Dan Shea, Connor Trineer, David Blue, and Gigi Edgley). Truthfully, I'd rather go to GABIT and have the fandom-friendship experience but I can't get the time off work. Project go-live is the 1st September for dead cert, and there will be no leave permitted for at least a month before. Which effectively rules out GABIT entirely.
And, all told, it cost less to buy this ticket than it would to pay for the ticket, flight, and accomodation to the Vancouver events with GABIT.
But GABIT would have been awesome fun.
Now, the only thing more awesome would be to have Rachel Luttrell as a guest. I've seen her before, but I'd love to see her again!

Incidentally, I have decided to completely give up the idea of getting my cards and parcels out before Christmas. They'll be New Year cards instead. I'm sorry; my life is just insane right now.
Thank heavens I get tomorrow off from 2pm. I'm debating whether to go in at my usual time (7:30am) and sneak out early or go in 'late' (8:30am) and leave with everyone else.

I'd do the ticky boxes, but, really, it's 12:30pm here!

Date: 2009-12-23 02:12 pm (UTC)And I'm in the same boat as you. I made my own Xmas cards this year and I swear, it's more expenisve, I just know they are just going to go to the trash eventually, but I had so much FUN! But they are still sitting in the craft table. Must get to it soon! ;)
Enjoy and have a wonderful HOLIDAY!!!! And A Happy New Year, too!

Date: 2009-12-23 07:45 pm (UTC)And Rachel is an utter sweetheart. It's not likely to be her; I know that - she's probably not flying when she's got her son to look after, and she's not that big of a name in the Stargate franchise, but it would be lovely to have her.
