Curious question of my f-list:

What do you like to do on a rainy weekend? What don't you like to do? Have you ever gone out in the downpour until you were soaked through?

I'm contemplating my Sunday, which is looking, hm, rainy, and wondering if I should go shopping or just sit at home and watch NCIS, Sanctuary, and 24.

On rainy weekends, I'm happy to spend part or most of the day at home - especially as I've recently rediscovered the joys of watching TV series on DVD. I'll also read, play computer games and nap.

At some point, though, I have to get out - otherwise, I'll go nuts from cabin-fever. Therefore, I almost always go out for dinner - even if the weather's atrocious, like it was today and tonight.

My cabin-fever gets worse, though, if I spend the day doing chores - especially laundry, which I do in one big hit that can take several hours.

Today was a laundry-day, and although I went out for dinner tonight I'm still a tad twitchy. Therefore, I'm planning to spend most of tomorrow elsewhere, most likely Westfield Parramatta for things I need (like a relative's birthday present) and want (like Kernels popcorn).

The good thing about going out is that it also encourages me to write, something that I can't stand doing at home. Tonight, I began wrestling with the interesting challenge at http://hilobrow.com/2010/01/26/hilo-micro-fiction-contest/ and it was good fun.

I actually do love walking in the rain.

but the best thing to do in a downpour is snuggle up on the sofa and watch tv/dvds and listen to the rain tap the window.

go shopping most people stay home to avoid the weather. I always get wet in the rain because I don't like wearing a jacket and I don't like carrying an umbrella. It's only rain and I won't melt, and I never really cared if I looked funny so who cares!

I like to read a good book, curled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea. I don't like to go out, unless there's absolutely no wind, so the rain falls straight down. If that's the case I like to go out with an umbrella and walk the streets a bit. But most of the time there's also a pretty good wind, so umbrella or not, I'd get soaked no matter what.
Did get out several times and got totally soaked, but not voluntarily. Had to cycle home from work, and the rain wouldn't stop so I had no choice but to face the rain. Soaked to the bone... I came home really cranky :D

THe rain doesn't tend to change my plans much unless I had been planning going to the city or gardening, which tend to get postponed.

Been dancing in the rain a few times and soaked through but that really works best when its torrential on a hot day, which is just bliss to enjoy during a heatwave. :D
