So, I've been sick/run-down for the last four days. Took Thursday afternoon off, didn't go to work Friday, didn't go in today.
I hate being sick. I really really loathe it. And this isn't the kind of full-blown thing that has the decency to come and go; it's a viral thing which just stays and clings and clings and ugh.
Saw the doc today after it wasn't getting any better on the weekend. He said I should stay home for the next few days and rest. Which sounds really nice. I'm just...busy at work. And there are things to be done. And things that only I can do.
But if I don't get rid of this now, it will linger all through winter and...no. Just, no.
Making chicken soup, though. Smells nice.

Date: 2010-06-07 03:14 am (UTC)A few years ago, I finally embraced resting until sickness gone, and it was one of those discoveries I wish I'd made years earlier.
Like death and taxes, work is inevitable - it will be still be there when you return, and unless it's something life-threatening like the phaser-banks not working don't worry about it.
So rest, and relax, and get better faster :)

(taps head a few times to seat eyeballs correctly)

(walks into a bar)

Date: 2010-06-08 09:27 am (UTC)It's being written by some fans who like the John/Teyla angle of the show (as well as all the other friendships) and it goes places where the show barely even brushed up against.
I'm one of the 'draft betas' and I'm loving what they're doing with it. They've really stopped and thought about what to do with the various characters and their possible storylines.
And there are other 'draft betas' also reading it - some are gen fans, a couple are John/Rodney fans, but they're all enjoying it, too!
