Has anyone ever chipped a bone before?

Does it hurt very much? I have this ache in my inside shin, just above my ankle bone, where I clashed legs in a lunchtime soccer comp yesterday. It's supposed to be an easy going comp so I don't wear shinpads.

But it's aching and it doesn't feel quite like a muscle ache or bruise. So I'm just wondering if maybe it's a chipped bone or something...

I chipped a bone in my finger not once, but twice. It was extremely painful, very bruised and very swollen. The doctor said I would have been far better off to just have broken it. So, based on personall experience, I'd have to say you'd know it if the bone was chipped. But you may still need an Xray, just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's not, simply because the pain just isn't strong enough.

Ah well. I'm just as glad to have dodged that bullet. :)
