Okay, so, not Oktoberfest with the drinking and the beer and everything.

But man is everything happening this month? I start summer hockey and have a concert, a play, a convention, and a wedding to go to in the course of the month. And there are at least three people to catch up with - possibly four if Fiji-for-a-year comes back after her year's hiatus.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it's Sydney International Food Festival, so of course I'm trying to meet up with people to have munchies...while on a diet.

And I am beginning to suspect I need more sleep. Will the advent of Daylight Savings provide it?

Um. Probably not.

Actually, my card's already filling up as well...next week alone, there's traveling to the other side of the world (Liverpool) on Monday; a Word 2007 course on Friday; and a first-aid recertification course on Saturday.

And work, of course.

And October also means that a certain mad writing event is only a month away. I'll have to start thinking about that as well...

I'm thinking about starting NaNo early this year. (Are you regional co-ordinator again this year?)

Terry Pratchett (or someone associated with him) and Random House Publishers are offering a prize to anyone who can write an 80-150K novel about an Alternate Earth.
