Sanctuary Quilt layout: the issue

I think the old one worked better:

It was more structured in the initial design stages.


The second layout is a bit more rough because it's just the individual pieces, but the pattern came through a lot clearer.

I could probably 'clean up' the new layout by spreading out the present squares and mapping out new patterns with the remaining pieces. Probably.

I guess that's a project for this weekend...

I agree, the new layout is a boring. I like the first one because it takes advantage of the star shapes that can result when the colors are placed to maximize that effect.

I agree too. I like the first one, has more character to it.
