I need to make a dessert for bible study potluck. It's pretty chilly around here so I'm looking at something warm - what would you go for?

1. Pavlova
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Apple Pie.

Those are things I think I can make tomorrow. Assuming that I have time between quilting and visiting my grandmother (who appears to be on her last legs).

Brownies! There is never any bad with chocolate!

I'm sorry your grandmother isn't doing well. *hugs*

True, that!

However, I had the supplies for apple pie (or apple turnovers) and made them, and people were very appreciative.

So, dessert was a success!

Well, not usually. I just put Pavlova in there as a not-chilled dessert option.

I ended up doing apple turnovers which were well-received.

I'd guess brownies would require the least work, unless you're making Pavlova from one of those eggs or something. Even so, brownies are likely easier to transport.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Actually, apple turnovers (which I ended up making) were quite satisfactory!

Thanks for the prayers. I visited her yesterday and she's barely eating, although she's still conversant enough.

Hope your grandmother is okay x

I made apple turnovers and they were pretty easy in the end.

I think we're holding out for her to see my dad again, who's coming over from SE Asia in about a week.

cake or cupcakes, because I don't eat any of those other things, lol. *hugs* I'm sorry about your grandmother. Hubby's grandfather isn't doing well either, we're going up tonight and tomorrow they have to decide if they are taking him off the ventilator.

Well, it turned out to be apple turnovers. :)

*hugs* Hope your hubby's family is doing okay. Did they have to turn the ventilator off?

we've decided to wait until he has less fluid on his lungs. Our aunt and hubby's bro both think he will get better but the dr said he won't. So we're waiting a bit and everyone has agreed once he comes off he needs to go home with hospice. His new wife is the only one who doesn't want hospice, and she is being a real bitch and told us it doesn't matter what we want, she is going to do what she wants to do anyway

Apple turnovers. Close to apple pie, but small and individual and made with puff pastry!

*hugs you back*

Oooh, excellent. I recently made apple hand-pies - slightly different crust but same basic idea - and they were lovely, so I am enjoying yours vicariously!
