short version
Feb. 19th, 2009 06:51 amBusy last week. Went to see War Of The Roses I and II on V-Day, 8 hours of play. Cate Blanchett was great as Richard II.
Work's sending me on a training course next week to become an 'expert' at something. Terrifying.
On the other side of it, they seem to have cut off my LJ mobile posting via email. (Something about mail.livejournal.com not knowing anything about post.livejournal.com? Anyone?)
Anyone having trouble with Google searches? I do a google search, find a bunch of sites, and click on the link, but it keeps trying to forward me to another search engine - one of those 'nameless' ones that don't really find anything and are mostly for advertising. Is anyone else getting this? And how do you stop it?
Reading a supernatural romance series by Meljean Brooks (who I think I might have encountered writing Batman/Wonder Woman in JL fandom back four years ago): Demons and Guardians. Enjoying them quite a lot.
I participated in a Yule Exchange - sending gifts to someone, while someone else sends gifts to you. Most people send and receive packs of perfume oils, hand-made things, cards, notepaper, jewellery, bits and pieces. I got...an Amazon book card. It was generous financially, but...disappointing. Like receiving a mug in the office Secret Santa, while everyone else receives knitted scarves and handmade boxes and little crystal figurines. It's perfectly functional and fulfils the purpose of the exchange, but there's no joy in it. All these other people got their gifts and were all *SQUEE*. It's kinda hard to squee over an Amazon book card.
Failing to write. As usual.
Feeling isolated from the people I used to talk to. Again, as usual.
Kinda tired. As usual.
