Wolf Con - SG12 - Nov 2nd-4th

Is anyone going? Does anyone know of people going?
I'll be in London for the start of that weekend, and am seriously looking at putting up at the hotel, meeting up with people.
Granted, I've been out of SG1 fandom for a couple of years now, and I gather I wouldn't be a particularly welcome addition among the SG1 fans who are also into SGA, but I figure I might as well ask.
If nothing else, perhaps someone can pass me on somewhere where there's some decent info? I've checked the Wolf Events site and it's not very helpful or very encouraging.

Oh, and it looks like I may be down here until I leave for overseas. Which is good in a monetary POV but may be problematic in terms of housing (again).

Date: 2007-06-20 09:33 pm (UTC)Do they have any word on guests?

Date: 2007-06-20 09:30 pm (UTC)Maybe I should be pestering Meesh with these questions...

Date: 2007-06-20 10:32 pm (UTC)I haven't got mine yet but that's nothing more than sheer laziness on my part. I'm waiting for another flister to sort her credit card issues and then I'll buy it.
As for the guests, i don't know. They usually announce them by now, I think, but I'm buying a ticket on spec. To be honest, I don't much care who the guests are, it's just a nice excuse to party for a weekend. (And seeing people dressed up ala last year's Darth Vadar is always worth a laugh.)
Meesh would know more than I. I saw we comment above about the hotel stuff... assuming they are at the Thistle again, I believe it works out cheaper to book yourself a hotel room as a guest and not part of the con.

*thinks about getting a really swish suite or something and then having parties up in her room*

Date: 2007-06-20 11:31 pm (UTC)And I hate to break it to you, but 'swish' at the Thistle generally means clean towels. If your expectations are any higher than that, you're rooted.

Date: 2007-06-20 11:42 pm (UTC)Do people squish into rooms, or does everyone get their own room and just flit around?
*will be guided by Ky* :D

Date: 2007-06-20 11:48 pm (UTC)Last year we had 4 fully grown women in a double room. I slept on the floor between the bed and the wall with about 30cm's space. Fun. (But cheap, so I shaln't complain too much)
Bunk in with people if you can, it's cheaper and us poor Aussies need that since we get screwed on the conversion rate.
To my way of thinking, as long as you have somewhere to stash your stuff and pass out at the end of each night (Read: in the wee hours of the morn) you're all set.

Date: 2007-06-20 11:52 pm (UTC)I don't know anyone in the UK who's going - or, at least, I don't know anyone who's going who wants to admit they're going and share a room with me! *g*

Date: 2007-06-20 11:57 pm (UTC)We're planning on sharing a room and, if she says yes, you're more than welcome to share with us. It'd mean you'd either have to sleep in a bed with me or take the floor, though.
(The room we're looking at would have a double and a single, so it's not like you'd have to snuggle me or anything!)

Date: 2007-06-21 12:02 am (UTC)To be honest, given the number of people you're chatty with, I figured you were already up to your earlobes in roomies. :)

Date: 2007-06-21 12:04 am (UTC)I'm one of those people that others only want in small doses. Chatting to me on MSN is much less work than sharing a room with me in RL. ;)
I'll e-mail her and ask. We were talking about it the other day and I think she found a room for 160GBP for 3 nights, so it's cheaper for us all to third it.
I'll let you know!
