Okay, I can get two days of leave but not four. Three is probably pushing it very close.
This would allow me to attend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the con, but would require me to fly out Friday morning, arrive Friday morning, and fly back Sunday night, ready for work on Tuesday morning (having skipped Monday entirely). The whole five days would be given over to flying up to Vancouver, attending the con, catching up with people, and flying back. By Tuesday morning, I will have spent at least 40 hours of the previous 110 in transit.
I can afford it; my yearly bonus came in and can go towards that.
The question is: should I?
I wouldn't be able to make the cocktail party, which is a big bummer, but that is easily saleable (if it hasn't already been sold by the GABIT folks - I haven't heard back from them), so it wouldn't be entirely a loss.
It's also my birthday weekend, which would be fantastic fun to do.
