adelaide - arrival
Sep. 13th, 2010 09:18 amSo, arrived in Adelaide last night. It felt like the trip took hours for some reason, and I was never so glad as to reach my hotel room last night and just collapse.
I have internet at work, but the room internet is excruciatingly expensive - $13 an hour, and $25 for a day. *shudders*
So my ability to respond to just about anything on LJ is going to be hampered by this.
The warehouse here is a lot quieter - at least it seems that way in the morning. Apparently Tuesday is going to be a big day, and they never get out of here before 8pm. Although they start later at least: 8:30am instead of 7:30am. Still, I can see it's going to be a long week.
So far, things seem to be quiet. Famous last words!

And $25 a day for teh internets?!?
You may have already thought of all this, but:
1. Do you need to go online from the hotel for work reasons?
2. Will your employer foot the bill for your hotel internet?
3. If your employer won't, and you decide to pay for it yourself, you may be able to later claim it as a legitimate tax deduction
When I made my many work-related trips to Melbourne earlier this year, each time I paid for an extra night's stay out of my own pocket so I could fly home the next day at a reasonable hour. I was allowed to claim that money I spent as a tax deduction.
If you'd like, I could check with my eldest sister - she was an accountant.
